Speculation shrouds Kaindu’s future

Dynamos coach Kelvin ‘KK’ Kaindu has opened up about a turbulent 2025 campaign that dragged him from the chaos at Highlanders to a miracle escape with Dynamos. He described it as one of the toughest stretches of his coaching career — and the drama showed in every twist of his season.

Kaindu began the year guiding Bosso through a rough first half. The squad never found the quality or rhythm he needed, and the pressure mounted quickly. Then came the shock move in July, Kaindu jumped ship to DeMbare, a decision many thought would sink his reputation.

Instead, he pulled off a rescue act that seemed impossible, ending the year by lifting the Chibuku Super Cup after beating Triangle United at Gibbo Stadium last weekend.

“It has been a very difficult season with a lot of ups and downs. It was a season that came with a lot to talk about. I didn’t imagine myself moving from Highlanders to Dynamos. However, I believe God did it for a purpose and took me where He wanted me to be. When I made the decision to move to Dynamos, many people questioned it, but it was courtesy of the Almighty’s guidance,” said Kaindu.
He reflected on how close things were for both clubs.

“Looking at the points we collected at Highlanders and those we got at Dynamos, it was always going to be an exciting season for me. In helping Dynamos survive relegation, the formula was to believe that with God all things are possible. We survived on the last day, but instead of celebrating that, we celebrated by winning the Chibuku Super Cup,” said Kaindu.

Kaindu replaced Lloyd “MaBlanyo” Chigowe and refused to lose a league match from the moment he arrived.

Even so, the Glamour Boys endured their worst league finish in 20 years.

They ended 13th and spent the final matchday staring at danger until a goalless draw with FC Platinum saved them — helped by results elsewhere.

Once the league stress eased, DeMbare threw their full weight behind the Chibuku Super Cup final. Triangle tried to break them, but second-half substitute Enasio Perezo Jnr smashed home a spectacular winner that secured the trophy and booked their CafConfederation Cup ticket.

Now, the spotlight has shifted to Kaindu, and speculation about his future is growing. His contract is expiring, and clubs such as Simba Bhora and ambitious newcomers Hardrock are already circling.

“I think this is going to be a difficult off-season period. A number of coaches have moved to other clubs. There are a lot of vacancies and a lot will be said. There will be plenty of rumours, but we will see how it goes,” said Kaindu.
