Splendid book launch

People from all walks of life last Friday converged at Cresta Jameson Hotel for Patson Dzamara’s “Dear Miss, Dear Mister” book launch.
Among those who graced the event was Affirmative Action Group chairman Chamu Chiwanza, musicians Pastor G, Leonard Zhakata, BaShupi, Garry Tight and marriage councillor Mai Gunguwo.

The event was opened by Star Brite finalist Trust Makurumure who performed some of his tracks and left the stage for Garry Tight who performed two songs from “Pane Arikuchema” and “Amai” before a discussion on some of the topics which are in the book began.

Pastor G put the full packed house on fire after the discussions when he performed some of his popular hits “Mandipa”, “Murume Akatendeka” and it was “Mabiribobi” that stole the hearts of many.

Mai Gunguwo who spoke after Pastor G’s performance applauded Dzamara for his wisdom that is evidenced in his book.

“When I went through this book, I could not believe that what I was reading was written by a 29-year-old author who is not yet married, he showed high level of wisdom and I am sure this book will go a long way in helping those who are in stable relationships since these days we no longer have aunties and uncles to help our children,” she said.

The book was also endorsed by Chiwanza and Zhakata.

However, Dzamara gave all the praise to God saying it was through His grace that he had managed to go far.

“I never did literature or an arts related subjects at school, instead I did commercials so to me all this is because of the grace of God,
“I made history last year when I launched five books and this book was also done by that time but I had to do some corrections and I am launching it today, thank you all for your continued support God bless you,” he said.

Meanwhile, the main highlight of the show was when Bashupi who went on stage and performed some of his hits “Pandagonawo”, “Kana Riri Godo”, and it was when he performed “Ma1” his collaboration with Pee Kay that left people clamouring for more.

BaShupi also took the opportunity to introduce his new single “Polongo” that was released on Friday and basing with the response at the event, the song is set to be a hit.
