Old Hararians Sports Club . . (21) 28Harare Sports Club fully utilised home advantage as they put up a solid second half performance to dismiss arch rivals Old Hararians in a top of the table National Rugby League tie yesterday.

The visitors opened the scoring with a try from eighth man Takunda Chifokoyo while captain Tichafara Makwanya converted at the centre post with ease. Sportivo’s first half was a horror script as they were disoriented in their forward formations.

With the home side failing to get their act together the Green Machine kept piling on the points with Makwanya scoring three penalties in the first half. However, Sportivo came back from the breather in business mode.

“We did not play the game that we wanted to in the first half and changes had to be made. I think we played to the referee in the first half because we were not happy with the calls he was making,” commented Harare Sports Club manager Blessing Chiutare after the match. The defeat was difficult to swallow for the Green Machine who also fell to the Old Georgians Dragons at home last weekend.
