Springvale Festival a huge success

The event marked six years of existence for the tourney since it was launched in 2006. BancABC came on board for the first time and were impressed with the level of competition displayed by all teams especially the primary school teams.
A total of 32 teams, incorporating 16 junior teams and 16 senior sides, took part.

Teams which participated were invited by the hosts Peterhouse.
Each team played four matches as teams were grouped into two pools and it was run on a festival basis where at the end of the tournament there was no winner. In the junior category, Ruzawi Primary, St Johns, SVH, Heritage, Eaglesvale and Hellenic dominated the proceedings, showing some flair, slick passes and their fluidity when in attack.
The senior level section saw Ruzawi, Hellenic, St Johns, Heritage and Lilfordia in their own class as they exhibited good skills.

Ruzawi junior team managed to win all the four games they played, beating Petra 39-20, walloping Whitestone from Bulawayo 43-7, dismissed Barwick 32-10 and beating LCPS 32-12. St John’s junior side also won their matches convincingly — beating Whitestone 19-0, Barwick 37-5, SVH 15-0 and edged Eaglesvale 5-0.

SVH were also in irresistible form, getting the better of Ryding 32-19, drawing with Petra 10-10 and walloping Whitestone 42-0.
They lost to St Johns 15-0.
