Sri Lanka rope in Malinga ahead of Zimbabwe tour

SRI Lanka Cricket have roped in their former legendary fast bowler Lasith Malinga ahead of their five-match white-ball tour of Zimbabwe scheduled to get underway on August 29.

Malinga, who is Sri Lanka’s third all-time leading wicket taker, will be working with the team’s fast bowling unit, offering tactical insights and technical expertise, until their departure to Zimbabwe on Friday.

He joined the camp on Tuesday.

The forthcoming series is set to feature two One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three T20Is with all matches taking place at Harare Sports Club.

The two ODIs are penciled in for August 29 and 31 while the 20-over matches will take place on September 3, 6 and 7.

Both Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka are yet to announce their final squads for the series.
