The tournament was hosted by Christian Bro-thers College (CBC) and featured five participating schools, namely Falcon, St George’s College, Milton and St John’s College, who competed in two categories.
The A division featured five teams while the B division had four after the hosts CBC failed to assemble a full four-ball team for this category. The A division, which is regarded as the championship division, had St. John’s College and Chap-man Golf Club member Travis Smith coming out as the player of the tournament. St John’s College, led by Jeff Chindito, finished in first position with a gross score of 309 points and Falcon were on second place with 352. St George’s College came third with 365 while Milton, who had 385 points, came fourth. The hosts CBC won the B division when they managed 132 points after the single round with St John’s College coming second on 126 points. Falcon College were placed third with St George’s College settling for fourth position while Milton came fifth.
St John’s College sports director, Nesbert Chireva, was impressed with his team’s performance and said the tournament provided the platform for the pupils to get good exposure.
“The course condition was good and the kids enjoyed their time. And with this being the first tournament of the year, it was good and we expect another good game at Royal Harare on June 25,” Chireva said.
