Stage set for Black Label Ball pool finals

THE stage is set for the Bulawayo provincial finals of the Carling Black Label Ball Pool Challenge at Raylton Recreation Club this Saturday.
At stake will be slots to represent the province in the national finals set for Bulawayo on 21 September sponsored by  Delta Beverages, the brewers of the Black Label brand.

Bulawayo Pool Association publicity secretary Donald Wadawu confirmed that preparations were on course for the tournament.
“The provincial finals will be played on Saturday, all preparations are at an advanced stage and we are well prepared,” said Wadawu.
Eight men and five women will qualify for the national finals. Wadawu said an explosive tournament was on the cards.

“We expect good competition at the tournament, you have seen different winners at other tournaments this season it shows that there is competition among the players,” said.

He said they expect a high turnout at the provincial finals. Maradona Khumbula, Paul Mutizo, Brain Dziko, Norman Moyo and Anywhere Shanduke are the city’s top players to watch out in the men’s category after their splendid performances at recent tournaments.

In the women’s category Trina Dube, Hope Nyoni, Flatta Moyo and Petronella Sibanda are expected to make it to the national finals.
Delta Beverages are the sponsors of the challenge.

Other provinces have selected their representatives for the Black Label finals. Players’ registration will be held at Raylton at 8.30am and all games start at 2pm.
