Stanbic Bank Zim grows range of products

Business Reporter
Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe has grown its range of products in line with the prevailing harsh economic environment.

The financial services institution, which was voted the best bank in a recent survey sponsored by diversified financial services group Old Mutual, has demonstrated its commitment to serve its customers by tailor making products which meet their needs.

Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe head of personal and business banking, Brian Ndadzungira, said the bank is determined to offer the market more than just banking products and services.

Ndadzungira said one of the bank’s core values is being proactive and this has seen Stanbic Bank positioning itself to be a “one-stop shop” for a diversified range of products.

“We have to change with the times and now our bank is also a provider of insurance solutions. We are now well placed to ensure that our clients can do their banking and also get insurance cover under one roof,” said Ndadzungira. He said as the bank ventures into offering insurance solutions, its customers can now access Homeowners Insurance and Motor Insurance among other types of insurance at any Stanbic Bank branch. The Homeowners Insurance policy affords a customer structure cover against most perils such as storms in this rainy season, accidental damage, burst geysers or fires. This policy gives a client peace of mind in the knowledge that their house is covered.

Ndadzungira said the bank has also introduced Household Contents Insurancepolicy, which augments the Homeowners Insurance policy as it is designed to cover movable contents of the home.

This policy ensures that contents in the home can be covered against incidents of theft, fire, lighting and explosion of domestic gas or even whilst temporarily away at a place of repair or whilst in use away from home.

Items covered under this policy include laptops and tablets, and electrical goods such as televisions, decoders, home theatres, fridges etc.

He said the Motor Insurance covers offer a wide selection of policies that fit a client’s needs and requirements to choose from and these include Full Third Party, Full Third Party Fire and Theft and Comprehensive Insurance cover. Full Third Party Insurance that is also known as Third Party Insurance is a basic cover that is required by law for one to drive a vehicle in Zimbabwe.

This policy is meant to cover third parties against injury, death or damage to third party property whilst the vehicle itself is not covered in any way and any damage to your own vehicle or loss will be for your own account.

For protection against damages that are not covered under Full Third Party Insurance, one can get Full Third Party Fire and Theft insurance. This policy caters for theft of accessories from insured vehicle as well as damages caused by fire only in addition to third party items covered under Full Third Party.

Ndadzungira said comprehensive Cover is the ideal motor insurance policy that comprises Full Third Party, Full Third Party Fire and Theft and goes further and broader to cover repair costs for damage or loss of the insured vehicle following an accident, medical expenses up to policy limit, towing charges for the disabled vehicle and emergency hotel or other accommodation expenses up to the limit stated in the policy.

In addition to insurance, Stanbic Bank and Moneygram have formed a partnership to facilitate the receipt of funds from abroad for its customers.

This partnership enables anyone to receive money through MoneyGram from their loved ones abroad safely.
