Soul Sister joins SA, Zambian DJs at Connecting Africa Initiative

STAR FM’s Soul Sister, Grace Chikaya will be broadcasting live today and tomorrow from Durban, South Africa at the Connecting Africa Initiative.

The programme will run on the TXO from 12noon to 3PM as part of the station’s taking radio to the people campaign.

The Soul sister will join other radio personalities from Zambia’s Radio Phoenix and those from East Coast Radio and Jacaranda FM.

Connecting Africa is an annual initiative organised by Dube Trade Port, East Coast Radio, KZN Tourism Authority and South African Airways Express and its objective is to broadcast and market tourism and culture.

Star FM’s communications and public relations manager Beatrice Tonhodzayi-Ngondo said as a radio station they were excited with the development as this was their third time to be invited.

“Grace and the rest of the team from Star FM have already left for Durban.

“This showcase is for top radio stations and we’re excited that we’ve been invited to be part of it for the third year running. When we say we’re the fastest growing radio station, it’s evident that we mean it and it’s reality when others in the region see it too,” said Tonhodzayi-Ngondo.

She said listeners should tune in today and tomorrow to hear what is happening at the Connect Africa initiative.

“Those who want to listen can tune in to the TXO with the Moxinator DJ Mox on Monday and Tuesday. She will be telling us what’s happening in Durban during the show,” said Tonhodzayi-Ngondo.

She said the station would keep on going out into the country and holding outside broadcasts.

“We’ll reach out to all Zimbabweans. Star FM has ventured into the region as it continues to show that it’s the country’s fastest growing radio station.

“This is the just one of the several outside broadcasting initiatives that Star FM has been involved in lately. In the past week Star FM also had outside broadcasts at Westgate’s Pick and Pay in partnership with several corporates including National Foods’ Parlenta brand, Machipisa OK under the OK Grand Challenge and in Marondera under an Ecocash community programme, among many others,” said Tonhodzayi-Ngondo.
