STAR FM’s drive time radio will be streaming live from East Coast Radio, KwaZulu Natal in South Africa, as the station continues to lead the way in bringing the freshest sound.
The live broadcast from South Africa will hit the airwaves on “The Flow Time Drive Show” hosted by seasoned DJ and announcer Otis “The Flow” Fraser, Grace “The Soul Sister” Chikaya and producer Richard “R Kay” Kohola from 3pm to 6pm.

The combination of “The Flow” and “The Soul Sister” is a formidable one as the two complement each other on air.
The show is one of the popular slots on Star FM including the Breakfast Club, The Breeze, The Crossover and The Club 89.7 where Star FM features different club DJs.

Mbofana, who is also the station’s acting programming manager, hailed the partnership with Connecting Africa which made it possible for Star FM to be part of the project.

“Star FM was selected to represent Zimbabwe on this project. We are excited and that cements us as the leaders as we consistently changing broadcasting in Zimbabwe,” he said.

“R Kay” or the “Music Doctor” to his listeners, promised listeners quality entertainment and thanked the organisers for making the cultural exchange possible.

“Well, this is part of a broader aspect of improving our broadcasting through cultural exchanges. As much as we are going to learn about new cultures and radio, they will also learn a thing or two from us. I also think this project is going to go a long in making Star FM the most preferred station in Zimbabwe,” he said.

This is part of a project called Connecting Africa that will also host Phoenix FM from Zambia and Jakaranda FM from South Africa.
Connecting Africa is a platform for radio stations to exchange notes and expertise. The exchange programme is in partnership with South Africa Express Airways which recently launched directed flights from Durban, which is a focal point from a business and tourism aspect into major cities.

It is hoped that through Connecting Africa a close alliance with radio stations on the African continent will formed and then bring together a community of broadcasters that will converge in Durban annually.
