STARBILL say they have a good chance of doing well in the Yadah TV Knock-out Cup quarter-finals despite being handed a tough draw against leaders Gunners.
Team manager Kudakwashe Mugari said his men were ready for a tough battle.
“I think it’s a good draw. Gunners are at the top of the league while Starbill are on number seven but this a different ball game altogether, it’s a Cup game and the better team that day will win,” said Mugari.
“As a team we are prepared, we knew of this tournament way before, during mid-season, my guys are raring to go, they are training hard and I think they are ready to meet Gunners.
“These are the log leaders and we are getting into this game as the underdogs but don’t forget that this is a Cup game, anything can happen, as Starbill we are always positive.”
Gunners team manager, Wellington Mpandare, said they were confident of victory. “As a team we are excited about the tournament and we would really want to win it for the church but we are not underestimating any team.
“All the top eight teams are good, they are capable of winning and so we know it will be difficult but as Gunners we are a Christian team and we know we will prevail.
“As log leaders again all the teams that play Gunners will be clamouring to beat us, every team wants to beat the top team.
“It won’t be easy because Starbill is a difficult team that will be looking to up their game and we would have preferred Flame Lily because they are second to us on the log table,” said Mpandare.
