Stay in touch with people — Mutasa

last weekend, Cde Mutasa said the leaders belonged to the people.
He was representing Vice President Mujuru at a function held in the Mberengwa East constituency.
Cde Mutasa was standing in for Vice President Joyce Mujuru.
“If there are problems or projects to be done in an area where you are the leader, you have to listen to the people and hear what they want to be done and not do what you want.
“We hear that the Mberengwa community told Cde Gumbo that they want a Community Hall and this is what we are seeing here.”
Cde Mutasa hailed the party national spokesperson for successfully completing the hall although he was not representing the area in Parliament.
Construction started in 2004 while Cde Gumbo ceased to be an MP for the area in 2008. The multi-purpose hall would host various activities including weddings, workshops, mobile cinema and churches services.
Cde Mutasa also explained the rationale behind the disbandment of district co-ordinating committees.
“The party cannot ignore, watch and leave these divisive acts. The party will ensure discipline is maintained,” he said. Cde Gumbo also told the gathering that the party’s views in the draft constitution were captured at the Second All Stakeholders’ Conference.
