adminshe appeared before Harare magistrate Mr Donald Ndirowei. She was remanded to November 8 on free bail.
Prosecutor Mr Innocent Chingarande alleged that Kahari was the wife to the minor’s father and they stayed together. Sometime this month, the minor was said to have soiled her blankets before Kahari allegedly forced her to eat the faeces.
A neighbour saw the minor’s mouth full of faeces before she took her and washed her, it is alleged.
Mr Chingarande alleged that Kahari was said to be ill-treating the minor by assaulting her and failing to give her enough food. As a result, the minor was getting food from neighbours, including Mavis Munhenga.
Kahari allegedly confronted Munhe-nga once on why she was not giving the minor food.
The minor allegedly told Munhenga that Kahari pinched her all over the body. It is alleged that Kahari failed to take the juvenile to school on numerous occasions. The matter came to light when an anonymous note was dropped in a police suggestion box leading to Kahari’s arrest.
