Stepmum houses children in bathroom

A Bulawayo Civil Court heard how a seemingly space-starved couple is finding relief by using their bathroom as a new source of alternative bedroom space for their children.

Marko Moyo who is a groundsman at a high school in Tsholotsho where he is using one room with his wife Sithokozile Moyo and the children claimed that in a bid to help his children get as much sleep as possible, he moved them to the bathroom.

Marko revealed this while suing his wife for abuse.

He said Sithokozile was in the habit of harassing him each time he suggested that she should go and stay with children at their rural home since they were using one room.

a�?Sithokozile is very violent. She harasses me in front of the children and ill-treats my children from my first wife by telling them that they should go and stay with their mother yet she is dead.

a�?I am employed as a groundsman at a school in Tsholotsho and I was offered one room which is too small for the family. Because of that I suggested that she should go with the children to our rural home and she is refusing while also threatening to kill herself.

a�?Her behaviour is now affecting my relationship with employers who are not happy that I had decided to use the bathroom as an alternative bedroom space for our children,a�? said Marko.

Sithokozile, however, disputed her husbanda��s allegations that she was harassing him in front of the children.

a�?All what he said concerning the issue of abuse is not true and I didna��t know of the rural home he is talking about which he said Ia��m refusing to go. On accommodating children in the bathroom the school authorities are looking into the issue and they promised to give us a bigger house,a�? she said.

Magistrate Sithembile Ncube in her judgment ordered Sithokozile not to harass her husband.
