NORTHERN Region Soccer League leaders Black Rhinos face a stern test today when they visit fourth-placed Chingwere at Pfupajena.
Rhinos sit seven points clear at the top.
A win for the log leaders would stretch their advantage, while maximum points for Chingwere will cut the gap to four with the race still wide open.
Chingwere striker Brian Kwaramba, the NRSL’s top scorer, said the game could shape the title chase.“If we lose, the gap will widen.
“If Rhinos win, they open it further. This is an important match for both sides,” Kwaramba said.
The forward is chasing a 20-goal season and wants to deliver at home.
“We won away in Harare last week. I want to score at home and make our supporters happy,” he said. Elsewhere at Chikangwe, Karoi United will play Golden Eagles, with Banket United taking on PAM at Kuwadzana.
Ngezi U19 visit Batanai at Trojan Mine and Black Mambas host G&T Mine at the Mkushi Academy grounds.
Tomorrow Rangers receive CP Chemicals at Chinhoyi Stadium. Meanwhile, Harare City enjoyed a successful June after picking up several individual awards. Coach Try Ncube was named Coach of the Month, while Emmanuel Meleka was voted Player of the Month.
Karoi United’s Keith Abel Kasirori won the Goalkeeper of the Month award.
AMV head coach Collin Chinyani says his side remain in the Eastern Region Soccer League promotion race despite a 0-0 draw with Mutare City Rovers.
