STINGRAYS’ Ranchengqian Qiao was the toast of the club as he scooped over a dozen medals in the Bulawayo Amateur Swimming Association Senior Championships which ended at the City Pool yesterday.
Ranchengqian showed great sportsmanship and exhibited potential to be a great athlete with his outstanding performances.

The 11-year-old scooped gold in various strokes and distances. His club amassed a total of 1 792,5 points in an event they got strong competition from Crusaders who finished second with 1 407.
Third place went to Falcons Swimming Club who attained 700,5 points with one of Bulawayo’s oldest swimming clubs Penguins fourth a distant 570 points.
School of Swimming lived up to their being a grooming ground with a modest 460 points and Nyamandlovu based St James were fifth with a paltry 53 and Crocs getting 26.
Provincial boss Phawulani Ngwenya described the championships, which began last week with the 1 500m long swim and resumed on Thursday to yesterday, as a success.
