BLACK Rhinos coach, Stanford ‘Stix’ Mutizwa, says he is determined to do whatever it takes for his side to book a ticket for the Chibuku Super Cup final.
Rhinos take on Bulawayo Chiefs in the first of the semi-final double header at Mandava on Sunday.
Mutizwa believes they have to be cautious in their approach as Chiefs upset them in the league.
“We are determined to progress to the final, so we have to do our best on the day,” he said.
“Our preparations are going well and the boys are ready.
“We are not taking Chiefs lightly, as they once spoiled our fine run in the league.
“We have that in mind and we are not going to take them lightly,” he said.
He also believes the absence of Chiefs’ head coach, Nilton Terroso, on the bench, won’t have an effect.
He feels it gives a chance for assistant coach, Thulani Sibanda, to shine.
“Their head coach might not be around, but we are not reading much into it.
“It might also be a chance to give someone the opportunity to rise to the task.
“The onus is on us to focus on ourselves and do the right things that will get us through to the next round.”
He added:
“We have been holding training sessions in the heat for the boys to acclimatise to the hot temperatures we are going to be exposed to at Mandava.
“We have to keep our boys hydrated and we have been encouraging them to take lots of fluids.”
