A GANG of four armed-with-a-stone robbers allegedly bashed a security guard on the head before handcuffing him and his colleague, tying them up and raiding two shops at Queenspark West shopping centre in Bulawayo.

The daring robbery occurred at around 1am on October 7, 2026, while the two guards were on duty.
Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Nomalanga Msebele said the suspects pounced on the guards, with one of them striking a guard on the head with a stone before the pair were handcuffed and their hands tied with cable ties.

In a calculated move, two of the suspects allegedly remained behind to keep watch over the helpless guards and prevent them from escaping while their accomplices went on a looting spree.

The two robbers reportedly used a cordless grinder to force their way into a butchery through its rear door before making off with US$500 from a cash box.
