A 27-YEAR-OLD serial burglar who turned Nketa into a hunting ground of fear is finally behind bars! Resident can now rest from sleeping with one eye open after Arise Moyo, a known menace from Nketa 9, appeared in court this week. He broke into two homes, with disturbing impunity, leaving homeowners traumatised and locals demanding justice.

With zero remorse and a stone-cold stare, Moyo stood before Bulawayo Magistrate Evia Matura, facing theft charges of property worth US$2 770. He will be a guest of the State at Bulawayo Prison until 15 July.
The court heard that on 21 March, around 1AM, Moyo crept into Bradfield like a shadow. He allegedly forced his way into the home of Dr Orapelang Malemane, a doctor at United Bulawayo Hospitals.

He wrecked the locking system and slipped inside, helping himself to a US$900 petrol generator, US$780 TV, US$650 gas stove, and two bicycles worth US$300.
On the same day, Moyo allegedly struck again — stealing a 9kg gas cylinder from another resident, Mzweli Mkhwananzi.

Of the US$2 770 worth of stolen goods, police only managed to recover items worth US$620.
Despite the emotional and financial toll, Moyo remained unmoved in court, showing no hint of guilt or regret for tormenting his neighbours.
