WHAT kind of a man is this father who finds it normal to walk around his house naked while his children are watching his strange act?
While Zecharia Chigumira doesn’t find it strange to be parading his naked body to his children, he has been denying his wife her conjugal rights.
Well, one can understand when his wife, Cairo Kurima, says that her main fear now is that he will end up raping one of their children.
Kurima says the trauma, which their children have suffered from being exposed to their naked father, Zecharia Chigumira, is just unbearable.
Kurima has also been haunted by this shameful conduct that she was forced to approach the Harare Civil Court to get protection for herself and her kids.
She was granted the protection order.
Kurima told the court that her husband’s strange behaviour has destroyed their family and, on the occasions she has tried to persuade him to change his strange ways, she has been assaulted.
“He is in the habit of walking around the house naked, in front of the children, yet he has been denying me my conjugal rights.
“Our children are still minors and they are being affected by his actions and I am afraid he will end up raping them.
“I want a protection order against him because whenever I try to reprimand him, he breaks glasses and threatens to kill me.”
Chigumira pleaded with the court to give him a chance to change his strange ways.
“I apologise for my behaviour, I will change and respect the court’s order,” Chigumira said.
He did not answer questions about why he developed this strange behaviour.
In her ruling, magistrate Judith Taruvinga warned Chigumira against traumatising his children.
