PEOPLE from Sigola in Umzingwane District are counting their losses after their homes have been destroyed by rains with heavy winds on Thursday.

Ward 1 Councilor Thembelani Tshuma said the winds have destroyed homes and schools in the area.

“Yesterday (Thursday) the area received some rains with heavy winds, which left people homeless. We are appealing for help to rebuild Sigola Primary school which is the most affected,” he said.

“Our fear is that teachers will leave us as their properties have been destroyed by the rains.”
