A 17 year-old Ardbennie student was on Sunday abducted and raped in a parked car in Waterfalls.

The student, who was coming from Mbare, was going home after having attended some sessions of extra lessons.

She was walking alone along Finneran road, Ardbennie, when a black small car stopped besides her.

One of the occupants disembarked, dragged her into the car, which had two other men, and they drove towards Waterfalls.

The attackers stopped along Northway Road in Prospect, Waterfalls, and one of them disembarked leaving the complainant with two other attackers.

The victim said one of the attackers put a cloth in her mouth and raped her without protection.

Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the case appealing for information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects.

“Police are investigating a rape case involving a student who was coming from extra lessons,” said Insp Chakanza.

“She was abducted at around 3pm, raped and later released at 1700 hours and she called her mother and informed her about the incident.

“Complainant’s parents came to the scene and escorted her to ZRP Waterfalls where she filed a report,” he said.
