Students want to stop Platinum Double bid

HERENTALS coach, Kumbirai Mutiwekuziva, says their target is to beat FC Platinum and reach the Chibuku Super Cup final.

The Students want to end the Zvishavane side’s bid for a League and Couple Double.

They edged Manica Diamonds 2-1, courtesy of goals from Brighton Majarira and Collin Mujuru, to reach the final.

“I take this differently because it’s a Cup game, we are still underdogs going into the match.

“Cup games are difficult to predict because anything can happen.

“We are preparing to get to the finals but it’s going to be a tough match playing against them.

“They have been doing very well and have been dominating for a number of years in Zimbabwe.

“But, we are confident going into the match, with that victory in the league we got.

“It’s going to give us some motivation that we can do it,” he said.

Herentals have gone on a 10-game unbeaten run in the Premier League.

“It has been good, we started very well in the season but we had a poor show in the Chibuku pre-season tournament but we rejuvenated during the league.

“It’s quite a good performance and good improvement from the team looking at the run we’ve had so far.

“And, the confidence that we are getting with the team, growing, I’m very happy,” he said.
