THE much-awaited hip hop collaborative single by Stunner and Calvin has finally been released and it is titled Mabhebhi ekuno.
The single, released on Tuesday over the internet as promised, is a party track and was mastered by Calvin of the Bebengakholwa fame at his Volte-face Studios in Luveve.
Stunner said they came up with the song while having drinks after the Zim Hip Hop Awards last year.
“The story behind the song is we were sitting and having drinks in Harare and we were having an argument on which girls are the most difficult to talk to. Calvin was saying girls from Harare and I was saying from Bulawayo. We then decided that it was a good idea for a song,” said Stunner.
The track, according to Stunner, can be downloaded on websites such as Reverbnation, Calvin’s www.cal_vin.com website and Tozoita Cash Records Facebook page.
“The song can be found on Tozoita Cash Records Facebook page, Calvin’s website, Reverbnation and other sites. We want to see what response we get from people and then if it’s good take it to radio and then make a music video,” said Stunner.
He said he was eager to work with Calvin on future projects as he was a good producer and rapper.
“Collaborations are good because you find out someone’s talent which can help boost your career. Calvin is a good producer and I liked his sound it’s something I can use in my future projects,” said Stunner.
He said the other advantage with collaborations was that it kept artistes relevant with what was happening in the music scene.
“The audiences that we both command will listen to our music. People like me who have been in the game for some time can collaborate with up-and-coming artistes. This can help create a fresh beat that is relevant and we can bring up someone’s career,” said Stunner.
