Musician Desmond ‘Stunner’ Chideme has been dragged to court for allegedly bashing his neighbour and his nine-year-old daughter’s friend.
The singer appeared before Mbare Magistrates’ Court where he denied two counts of assault.
He reportedly bashed, Catherine Matiza and a minor girl, who was playing with his daughter.

Stunner was represented, by his defence counsel Dumisani Mthombeni who raised complaints against unfair treatment at the hands of police.
“Your Worship the accused person has complaints against the police who were biased and selective in handling this case.

“The police were selective in taking the complaints and not capturing his report on time.
“He first reported the matter on August 25, under RRB 6105134 at Glen Norah Police Station.

“They didn’t take his case and only made him arrested on this case.
“Accused is not guilty on both counts and he is coming from home,” he said.
However, the State said, it will investigate the case.
The presiding magistrate remanded the matter to September 12, for trial.
It is alleged that, on August 25, Stunner’s daughter was with three other friends in Glen Norah’s Specimen area playing when they started fighting. Further allegations are that Stunner approached the minor girls while they were fighting.
During the fight, his daughter reportedly fell and started crying.
Allegations are that, he then tried refraining his daughter from being attacked before he started assaulting the nine-year-old complainant.
It was reported that the children usually play together and on the day in question he was inciting them to fight.
At the heart of the altercation, Catherine who is the second complainant, tried to intervene before she was attacked by Stunner.
She ended up bleeding due to the impact after he dragged her to his yard as a way to avoid onlookers.
A case was then made at Glen Norah police station leading to his arrest.
