Stunning revelations of deliberate food poisoning at supermarket

This comes in the wake of 20 people who were hospitalized when they suffered diarrhea after eating food bought from Nice Time supermarket. Gweru City council subsequently ordered the closure of the supermarket’s fast food department.

The director of the supermarket Mr Chrispen Thomu confirmed the development saying: “Workers are sabotaging each other by deliberately poisoning food prepared by their colleagues in the delicatessen department.

“There is competition within the food department. We have different departments. There are some who concentrate on preparing hot chips, others on food stuffs while we also have a team that concentrate on preparing sadza. We thus suspect there are some workers who poisoned the other department’s food.”

In confirming the closure of the supermarket’s food department, a council health official said: “We are investigating the operations of Nice Time supermarket. We have reason to believe the supermarket is selling stale food to its customers. We have reports that more than 20 people were hospitalized after taking food from the same supermarket.” -The Chronicle
