Submit new banking details, Govt workers told

The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe placed Interfin under curatorship, while Genesis Investment Bank voluntarily surrendered its banking licence to the monetary authorities on Monday. In a statement yesterday, PSC secretary Mrs Pretty Sunguro said affected members in various provinces should submit new banking details by tomorrow.
“Cognisant of the Government pay dates for June 2012, which are 19th, 25th and 28th for education, rest of civil service and pensioners respectively, the Public Service Commission urges all affected members in provinces to urgently submit their new banking details to chief provincial inspectors at the Public Service Commission offices.
“Those in and around Harare should submit their new banking details to the general manager human resources at the PSC head office, 7th floor, Social Security Centre, corner Julius Nyerere Way and Sam Nujoma Street by end of day Friday 15 June 2012,” she said.
Interfin Bank was facing liquidity challenges and was being sued by several clients seeking to recover U$30 million in deposit funds.
Genesis was one of the few banks, which did not succeed in courting credible investors to meet minimum capital requirements set by RBZ.
