It was a rare treat for music lovers who turned up at Club Las Vegas in Southerton for Suluman Chimbetu’s homecoming show.
It was Orchestra Dendera Kings’ first show since the return form a tour of the United Kingdom and what a night it turned out to be for merry-makers.
Led by “Captain Sulu” as he calls himself, the show was a thriller from start to finish with guest appearances by fellow musicians in the likes of Alexio Kawara and Jean Masters. Alexio who fronts the group Shades of Black did not disappoint.
He joined Sulu on stage sending the crowd into a frenzy.
Both Alexio and sister Jean gave their best in music while pole dancer Zoey did her thing to an appreciative crowd that cheered on for the greater part of her set. Zoey is a versatile dancer and she left the crowd drooling after exhibiting some sexy moves.
Sulu was also on point throughout his act. He also took time to sample new songs which the crowd sang along. Judging by the response from the crowd, it appears his next release will be another hit.
Energy was high on and off the stage with Sulu’s band members going through well-choreographed dances.
It was indeed a great welcome show for an artistes as big as Sulu, who draws mature crowds. It was also perhaps the biggest crowd to attend his show at the venue that is fast becoming a favourite of many.
Joe Nyamungoma, Sulu’s publicist, said he was happy about the turnout and that the group put up a good show.
“We were particularly happy with the number of fans who came through to the show and it was our biggest crowd so far at the venue. We hope the upcoming shows would be as good as the weekend’s gig,” he said.
