Sulu reads riot act to ‘Slomo’

Sulumani’s manager Plius Paureni confirmed that Slomo’s errant behaviour was the subject of discussion but referred all questions to Joe Nyamungoma, Orchestra Dendera King’s publicist.

“Yes, a meeting was called last week and we discussed it but you can ask Nyamungoma as he is the one who has the authority to speak on such issues,” he said.
Contacted for comment, Nyamungoma declined to shed light on the case.

“Yes, we met him on Monday but it was over a different issue altogether not what you are taking about,” said Nyamungoma.
However, sources from the Chimbetu camp said it did not go well with their boss whom they said called for a meeting with all band members warning them not to moonlight with other musicians, more so arch-rivals.

“He reacted to what Franco did at Megga so he called all of us and warned us not to be involved in any acts and in the meeting he was referring to Franco,” said the source.

He added that Sulu made it clear that such acts implied that he was not paying them well.
Another source said he was feeling the heat as band members who went back to Macheso exposed his fake promises.
Franco confirmed that he meet with his boss but refused to shed light on what transpired.

“Yes, he summoned me but he never banned from dancing if I attend Macheso’s shows. He only wanted clarification after some media reports that I was planning to rejoin Macheso,” he said.

Pressed further the talented dancer said he could not say much but vowed never join Macheso unless he was offered something big like a house.
“You must know that I am satisfied at Chimbetu and I will not go back to Macheso unless he offers me something like a house,” he said.
Recently Elton Muropa and Noel Nyazanda returned to Macheso citing Sulu’s unfulfilled promises.
