adminwow fans who will converge on Mushandirapwamwe – one of his favourite haunting grounds – with four new songs to be featured on the upcoming album set for release in August.
And to add to the appeal of the show will be the parade of his new brand new band acquisitions – Francis “Slomo” Dhaka, lead guitarist Noel Nyazanda and dancer Elton Muropa – who recently defected from Alick Macheso’s Orchestra Mberikwazvo outfit to join his outfit.
Orchestra Dendera Kings manager Knowledge Nkoma, said dendera music fans should brace themselves for new stuff from Sulu come Saturday.
“It is not just an ordinary show, but a good show where we are going to play new songs from our 2012 album due for release in August.
“We have been working on the songs for sometime but we feel our fans who will attend the Highfield gig will not be the same again after attending the show.
“Sulu is going to play four new songs which are yet to be titled,” Nkoma said.
One of the new songs is an allegorical one about the dove who is arguing with God about His choice of doling out talents.
“”Ndachema chema njiva kuna Tenzi kuti sei gondo makamupa masimba, ko ini njiva?” go part of the lyrics in one of Sulu’s songs.
The album comes after Sulu’s last year’s ground-braking and popular release “Non-Stop” which carries crowd favourites “Dzamutsana”, “Kwedu” featuring Oliver Mtukudzi” and “Temperature”, among others.
Apart from “Non-Stop” Sulu also recorded the album “Reverse Deal” which makes up part of his catalogue of albums.
The talented artiste is expected to dish out hits carried on all of these albums together with old-time classics from his late father Simon.
