SULUMAN Chimbetu will today celebrate his belated 40th birthday in style.
He turned 40 on May 27 but opted to celebrate with his South African fans, where he was on tour.
The major celebrations will be held at Bar Rouge, at Long Cheng Plaza, where Sulu has never disappointed.
Prior to that, the Sulu will spend the day with ailing Orchestra Dendera Kings guitarist, Vivian Ndlovu, aka Mudhara Vhevhe.
He is down with a mild stroke.
In an interview with H-Metro, Carlton Mparutsa, Sulu’s manager, said they have decided to spend the day with Mudhara Vheche since he could not attend other shows, due to his condition.
“Since our member cannot attend other shows, we are going to spend the rest of the day with him.
“We will be accompanied by fans and supporters.
“There will be lot of fun and all are invited as we will be sharing lighter moments with him,” Mparutsa said.
Later on, the Orchestra Dendera Kings outfit will be in action at Bar Rouge tonight.
The show, which will only host Sulu and his band, is set celebrate the man himself as a winning and flourishing brand.
“The whole idea is to celebrate Sulu, so we want to have ample time with fans and enjoy the achievements together.
“With other artists on board, there won’t be enough time for fans to celebrate with him.
“Time inozoita shoma yekuti vatereri vanakidzwe,” said Mparutsa.
He also promised fans a powerful album in early summer.
Meanwhile, Mparutsa said the annual Simon Chimbetu commemorations will be different when compared to previous years.
He said preparations were already underway.
