SULUMAN Chimbetu’s road manager, Pliers Puraene, has left the Orchestra Dendera Kings citing poor working conditions and the need for a new challenge.
Pliers is now managing the affairs of Somandla Ndebele.
“I’m no longer with Suluman after I noticed that I needed a new challenge.
“There are some things that I will not mention for professional reasons.
“I would like to thank Sulu for the opportunity as well as Soma for accepting my proposal,” said Pliers.
While Sulu professed ignorance over Pliers’ departure, Somandla confirmed his arrival, saying that Pliers presented his concept and has brought in some positives.
“As far as I am concerned, Pliers is still my manager. Kana asiya atosiya kwamuri ikoko.
“I am yet to hear from him,” said Sulu.
Pliers felt sidelined after Sulu roped in four handlers.
Sulu has one manager based in the UK, another one in South Africa, and two others in Zimbabwe, who are in charge of bookings.
Somandla confirmed Pliers’ arrival.
“We gave him a job when he approached us. He presented his concept and we are happy that we now have someone who has the expertise and knowledge that we need the most.
“There are some positives that he has brought in and we are happy that he is beginning to show us his worth,” said Somandla.
Pliers has worked with several artists over the years, including First Farai and the late Tongai Moyo.
