The bombshell of the week – Jah Prayzah’s break up with Mother Filo – his manager of almost a decade, is nowhere near being a foregone conclusion. Musoja or Soja Rinosvika Kure, as Jah Prayzah is referred to in some quarters, is said to have cowered behind bouncers (lawyers) after Mother Filo took off the gloves demanding US$12 000 and the return of a Mercedes-Benz she loaned him a while back.

The militant manager, also known as the Iron Lady at Jah Prayzah’s band, is said to be going around telling people that she bought Jah Prayzah his first decent underwear and will not be discarded like a piece of junk.

Surely this would make for some good soap opera story and Sunday Buzz will be there to keep you updated on any juicy developments.

The soccer legend, who fell on hard times while coaching the Young Warriors a few years back, is now back in the groove.

The former senior national team captain, who had been nicknamed “Pastor” during his stint with the junior team, fulfilled his dream of dancing with raunchy dancer Beverly Sibanda in Johannesburg last weekend.

Previously, the former player, nicknamed Nsukuzonke, at the height of his career, was a regular at most of Bev’s shows whenever he was in the capital.

After several attempts to hide the deep-rooted and chronic problems at the popular arts venue, Book Cafe, young proprietor Tomas Brickhill finally accepted that he was at the deep end and in no position to swim to safety.

But this is no laughing matter – employees, some of whom have worked for Book Cafe for many years, were said to have been told point blank by Tomas that there was no money to pay them and that he would have to sell whatever assets are there for them to get some money.

Let’s hope some donor out there will spring to this young man’s rescue before another one of Zimbabwe’s important venues goes six feet under. Ask Josh Hozheri – he now only has the 105 personalised number plates on his bakkie to comfort him.

The rich list published by this publication a few weeks back has left a sour taste in someone’s mouth. We hear that this vocal businessman-cum socialite has been complaining bitterly over what he believes was a deliberate move to exclude him from the list just to spite him.
