LAST Friday bar patrons and cops in the City of Kings and Queens are said to have clashed over the stipulated closing time.
It is reported that cops, who also happen to be patrons at the bar, went to the sports bar and demanded everyone inside to vacate, as it was way past closing time. Sports bars are required to close for business every day at around 11pm.
Now it is said the cops got into an argument with the patrons, who said just because the cops were on duty they wanted the bar to close early. Patrons argued that when they are not on duty and are drinking the bar closes around 1 or 2 am.
However, the issue takes a different twist as it is now being said that it was actually some rowdy youths that forced the bar to call it a night, after the DJ told them that he didn’t have the type of music they wanted to listen to.
It is said that they lured the DJ outside the bar into an alley, where they assaulted him before going back to the bar to demand it to be closed.
