SUNDAY BUZZ: Priest, nun in secret affair + this week’s juicy gossip

Priest, nun in secret affair

SUNDAY Buzz has come across disturbing information. There is a Roman Catholic priest and a nun based in the Avondale said to be breaking their vows. The two have set up love nests outside the country in places like Johannesburg, Singapore, Kenya and Dubai.

They cleverly plan their trips when they decide to quench their adult thirsts. Recently they were both out of the country (that is if they have returned). But to conceal their trek, they do not fly out together. Rather they choose to visit nearby destinations that make it easy for them to hook up at a central venue. We have since learnt that in this part of Africa, Johannesburg has become their favourite meeting spot.

But why go through all this trouble? Sunday Buzz is baffled if this priest/nun thing is a life sentence. Why not just walk out of Mr Priest and Miss Nun before Sunday Buzz goes an extra mile in exposing your unholy mischief.

After attracting just a handful of fans in consecutive shows over the last few months, especially in the capital – a top sungura artiste who has been promising his followers a new album for over two years is finally ready to make good on his pledge.

Unlike Dr Dre’s “Detox”, which was supposed to hit shop shelves in 2002, but is still to do so 13 years down the line – the Zimbabwean sungura maestro has been left with no choice by his waning fortunes.

Sunday Buzz’s informer within his camp tells us the wait is finally over. The album has been recorded and is ready for release. Special thanks to Jah “Jerusarema” Prayzah for putting pressure him.

So chicanery exists in all spheres of our lives never mind the characters involved. There is this young gospel musician who is now in the habit of using silly and cooked-up scandals to sell his music and is vowing to continue down this ill-advised path.

After realising that his matrimonial shenanigans are no longer doing enough to keep him on the limelight, he has decided to rope in his “supposed gospel music rival”, who is based in Mutare to rejuvenate his waning popularity.

And the offer he made is simple: “We are musicians and we should capitalise on our assumed rivalry just like Seh Calaz and Soul Jah Love, that’s how showbiz works.” And their trial gig was supposed to have been held yesterday in Beitbridge. We are going to be closely monitoring developments to see how it will pan out and the kind of stories that they will try and sell.

“To God Be the Glory” seems to have found relevance to former Orchestra Mberikwazvo and Extra Kwazvose chanter Jonasi Kasamba.

He is on cloud nine following rejuvenation of his career after joining Xtreme Afrique that is managed by Lyton Ngolomi. Kasamba is moving around telling anyone who cares to listen that life has never been rosy for him and that he regrets having wasted his time with the likes of Macheso (Alick) and Franco.

Before joining Xtreme Afrique late last year, Kasamba was mulling packing his bags to go back to his native Democratic Republic of Congo after becoming jobless and failing to afford a descent meal.

Guess what? All is now well for the charismatic chanter. One just hopes that he does not get too comfortable and in the process do the unimaginable.
