Sunday Mail scribe scoops award

THE Sunday Mail senior reporter, Shamiso Yikoniko (pictured right), last Thursday bagged the US President’s Emergency Plan for Aids Relief (PEPFAR) national outstanding HIV and Aids reporter award.

She walked away with a certificate and cash prize at an awards din-                                                                                           ner.

Yikoniko was recognised for highlighting stigma and discrimination that people living with HIV are subjected to.

At the same event, Zimpapers reporter Mirirai Nsingo scooped second prize in the community category for HIV and Aids reporting.

Nsingo also walked away with a certificate and a cash prize.

The two were presented their prizes by Health and Child Care Minister Dr David Parirenyatwa and US embassy Chargé d’ affaires Jennifer Savage.

The ceremony was attended by senior Government officials and representatives of the civil society.
