Sunday Mail scribe Shambare bags another award

THE Sunday Mail reporter Theseus Shambare (pictured) scooped the Best Print Media accolade at the 2023 Young Farmer Excellence Awards held in the capital on Friday.

He was recognised for his focus on young farmers who are driving the agriculture sector.

He was awarded a certificate of excellence and a gift.

This is Shambare’s fourth award in a month after he bagged three gongs at the 2023 National Journalism and Media Awards early this month.

In an interview, organiser of the Young Farmer Excellence Awards — who is also youth desk coordinator in the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development — Mr Nickros Kajengo said Shambare played a key role in telling stories centred on Zimbabwe’s young farmers.

“Outstanding youth farmers need to be recognised and this can be done if their work is seen.

“Shambare did that by travelling to the farmers and producing well-packaged stories. We respect and recognise such efforts,” he said.
