THE curtain comes down on Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Week 22 this afternoon with three potentially explosive fixtures that could have a significant bearing on both the title race and the relegation battle.

League surprise package MWOS host Harare giants Dynamos in what promises to be the standout fixture of the day, with both sides eager to collect maximum points for different reasons. MWOS are looking to maintain their impressive campaign, while Dynamos are desperate to revive their season.

Elsewhere, title hopefuls Herentals face a stern test against Hardrock in a clash that could reshape the top end of the table, while basement side Agama will be fighting for survival when they take on fellow strugglers Triangle United in a crucial relegation battle.

The final round of fixtures follows an entertaining Saturday programme that produced 10 goals across five matches. Chicken Inn boosted their survival hopes with a dramatic 2-1 victory over Manica Diamonds at Luveve Stadium, where George Majika handed the Gamecocks an early lead before Lawrence Masibera levelled for the visitors. Binwell Rahim Kantinji then struck deep into stoppage time to seal all three points for the Bulawayo side.

Defending champions Simba Bhora continued their push near the summit with a comfortable 2-0 win over Bulawayo Chiefs courtesy of goals from Mccartiney Naweseb and Lawrence Chaziya. Highlanders battled to a creditable 1-1 draw away to FC Platinum, with Benjamin Adeogun converting from the penalty spot after Oscar Bhebhe had given the hosts the lead.

At Nyamhunga Stadium, ZPC Kariba and FC Hunters settled for a 1-1 draw, while CAPS United and Ngezi Platinum shared the spoils in a goalless draw at Rufaro Stadium.

The weekend action got underway on Friday when Scottland defeated TelOne 2-0, thanks to a second-half brace from veteran forward Khama Billiat, who continued his fine scoring form.

With three matches still to be played today, Week 22 promises a thrilling finale as the race for the championship and the battle to avoid relegation continue to gather momentum.
