A massive sports gala featuring Anglican, the UAA Church, UFIC, Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services and Zaoga is on the cards. WE start this week’s instalment in Chivhu, Mashonaland East where there are some exciting Sunday soccer sermons featuring the Anglican and the United Family International churches.
Mr Lloyd Mujukwa of the Anglican Chivhu got in touch with The Sunday Mail Religion and spoke about a “healthy football rivalry” with UFIC.
“It has become the norm here that the Anglican and UFIC take on each other every Sunday after church services. This has fostered fellowship amongst the youths from the two different churches. We have also seen that a number of youths from this area are coming to church, first to enjoy the game and then give their lives to Jesus Christ,” Mr Mujukwa said from his base in Chivhu.
A massive sports gala featuring Anglican, the UAA Church, UFIC, Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services and Zaoga is on the cards. Teams will compete in netball and soccer. November 11 is the day and the venue is Lienberg High School. See you there.
AFM Chinhoyi also got in touch, they are planning a big sports day and have promised to furnish us with more details.
Mutanga’s wish could be filled Last week we carried the story od Doubt Mutanga, a gifted footballer from Nerupiri in rural Masvingo.
Mutanga’s wish is to play for New Life Academy, a church team that is doing wonders in Harare’s ZIFA Division Two League. The 21-year-old Mutanga got to know about this team after reading The Sunday Mail and he wrote requesting to be linked with Apostle Murata, the founder of both New Life church and New Life Academy.
Well, it is good news for Mutanga because The Sunday Mail Religion caught up with Apostle Murata who is willing to assist Mutanga realise his dream.
“Unfortunately we do not have a church in that part of the country but all the same the blessed young man is free to join our football team,” said Apostle Murata.
