HARARE City are staggering in the darkness.
They have only managed to win a single match in their last 11 games and they find themselves in a fight to try and survive the chop.
At the weekend, they lost to CAPS United, who had gone seven games without a win.
It has emerged that it’s all gloomy in the dressing room as some players haven’t received their signing-on fees.
The players also last received their salaries in May.
Some reports are claiming that some officials want the club to be dissolved as they feel it’s now an expense to the already financially-struggling Council.
Others feel they can still find sponsorship to bankroll the club.
Speaking to H-Metro, a close source to the club revealed a lot has been happening behind the scenes and the players were disillusioned.
“Some players are planning to boycott training and stage a demonstration,” said the sources.
“The executive is trying to find a way to stabilise the situation as they are engaging different sponsors to chip in and help the team.
“Players have remained resolute to the cause but they also have families to take care of.
“They end up engaging in other activities that take away their focus from football.
“Remember these players are the breadwinners.
“If you look at the way the team is playing you can see the players and the coach are trying to salvage results but it’s not working because the biggest motivation factor, money, is out of the equation.
“Some of the players haven’t received their signing-on fees and it’s a concern.”
