adminThe studio launched its first audition in Bulawayo last Saturday at Amakhosi Township Square where many youths aged between 18 and 20 turned up for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
The studio run by musician Lwazi Tshabangu and veteran producer Guss Smytat aims at nurturing raw talent and putting it on the spotlight.
In an interview yesterday, Tshabangu said they were scouting for talented young people.
“We are embarking on a national talent search to identify talent and grooming it. It is all about finding the unknown artiste and putting them on the spotlight,” said Tshabangu. He said the project, which is a free-for-all
affair, would see the successful young musicians recording their music at Sunshine Studios where it would also be marketed and distributed on their behalf.
Sunshine Studios which has been operational for the past two years would be officially opened at the end of next month. The ceremony would also see the launch of Tshabangu’s and Isaac Chirwa’s latest albums.
Smytat who boasts of vast experience having been in the music industry for the past 29 years, said the project will go a long way in grooming the artistes.
“We are aiming at producing artistes that will compete internationally,” he said.
Tshabangu would be launching a 12-track album titled Nguwe.
Smyat said the auditions, which were still on, were open to youths aged between 18 and 20 years.
So far six talented youngsters have been identified.
