‘”We need to encourage the women to deliver the goods and as such we have decided to enhance their financial package’” he said.
“If you check their records comparatively with the Super Eagles they have done this country proud so they need motivation,”’ Musa said.
Super Falcons coach Kadiri Ikhana revealed his side is well-prepared for the cracker against Zimbabwe at Rufaro.
“We are readily prepared for the Zimbabwe game and the players are in brilliant shape to execute the game and quite sure they will make Nigerians proud. We will be having a mix of the home-based and foreign players in the list to execute the Sunday game after which the foreign players will return to their clubs leaving the Africa-based Nigeria women players to face the Banyana Banyana of South Africa in the June 3rd friendly,” said Ikhana.
Mighty Warriors technical advisor Maxwell Takaendesa Jongwe, is however unfazed by Nigeria’s lofty status and the prospects of facing such seasoned players like Perpetua Nkwocha.
“In women’s football, the more you become a veteran, in most cases you won’t be very useful. We should be worried about the inclusion of youngsters.
The Under-20 players who have been included should give us headaches. And obviously the youngsters would be thinking they are better after they beat our junior side, but this is a new game altogether,” said Jongwe.
Yesterday, the Mighty Warriors played two warm-up matches with the regular players playing against Division Two men’s side Sprouting and lost 1-3 while another  team comprising of players such as Precious “Gringo” Mpala, Pretty Phiri and second choice goalkeeper Chido Dzingirai lost 7-0 to another Division Two side Hwedza Bullets. Gate charges for the match will be US$2 for the rest of the ground, US$5 for the upper grandstand and US$10 for the VIP tribune.he full list:
