Supporters happy with Warriors delivery

Despite the 1-2 defeat, which saw Zimbabwe hopes of qualifying for the World Cup to be staged in Brazil next year vanishing, the team turned on a solid show.
Before the team’s departure for North Africa, Zifa president Cuthbert Dube said the German mentor should build a team for the future starting with assignments such as 2015 African Cup of Nations.

And the umbrella supporters’ body believes that building for the future will start with keeping the coach who has shown great faith in young players. In a statement released by ZNSSA, whose president Eddie “Mboma” Nyatanga is in hospital at Trauma Centre where he was admitted after suffering from broken bones, said the future was bright.
Nyatanga was admitted at the hospital on Sunday and is reported to responding well to medication.

“We are happy as supporters to see our team showing signs of life after many negative things suffocated our football in the past months.
“The Warriors played a good game and this coach should have more time with the team which is clearly a team for the future.

“Going into this match no one gave these boys a chance but by the time the match was on half time everyone was convinced that there is a team for the future. Unfortunately they failed to get even a point in Egypt but the performance was very good.

“It would be painful that this coach goes back to Germany and a new coach is appointed. He has started a project which needs time, consistence and continuity and he should see through the project and we are confident that this team would be in Morroco for Afcon finals in two years time,” read the statement.
