Suspect in flea market woman’s murrder arrested

Chronicle Reporter
A man from Bulawayo has reportedly been arrested in connection with the killing of the 35-year-old flea market vendor from Cowdray Park, whose naked body was found dumped in a storm drain on Monday.
Bulawayo Metropolitan province police spokesperson Inspector Mandlenkosi Moyo referred questions to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) yesterday evening.
“We handed that case to the CID long back so they are the ones who can comment,” said Insp Moyo.
However, sources within the police said a man had been arrested and is in police custody helping with investigations.

The woman has been identified as Mrs Sithabile Ncube, a former illegal foreign currency dealer, commonly known as usiphatheleni.

Neighbours said Mrs Ncube was last seen on Sunday at about 9pm at her house in Cowdray Park and her body was found lying in a pool of blood with multiple injuries the following morning.

Her husband Mr Costa Ncube (41) was reportedly out of town when the incident occurred.

Mrs Ncube’s body was taken to the United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH) for a post-mortem.
