Suspected cattle rustler killed in Zhombe

FIVE men have been arrested in Zhombe on allegations of fatally assaulting a suspected cattle rustler last week.
The five are Silvester Jinja (38), Takunda Mbano (37), Christopher Sithole (53), Mlamuli Ndebele (33) and Isaac Maphosa (47).

The incident occurred in Makwezi Village, Malisa, on September 10, 2024.

National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said, “The suspects took turns to attack the victim, Jabulani Gwada aged 41 with machetes, sjamboks, sticks, fists, axes and booted feet all over the body after accusing him of stealing Silvester Jinja’s cattle.

“The victim died upon admission at a local hospital.”
