Suspected rapist on the run

A 21-year-old Eastview man is on the run after allegedly detaining and raping a teenager for five days.

Define Tanaka was reported to have proposed love to an 18-year-old girl and on the same day the two proceeded to the farmer’s one -roomed house.

Tanaka allegedly locked the room and raped the girl without protection for five consecutive days threatening her with unspecified action if she was to leave the room.

She managed to escape when she sought to relieve herself in the toilet leaving Tanaka asleep and went to the police.

Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Luckmore Chakanza confirmed the case appealing for information that may lead to the arrest of Tanaka.

“Police are investigating a rape case involving a teenager in Eastview,” said Insp Chakanza.

“The complainant was lured into the accused person’s house where she was raped several times from March 30 to April 3.

“Complainant was referred to Parirenyatwa Hospital for examination. 

“Accused is yet to be arrested,” said Insp Chakanza.
