yesterday appeared in court.
Johannes Muringayi (32) who was once employed at the family’s Tondori Farm teamed up with his young brother Nimirod (26) and a friend Sabastian Gomo (28).
The trio was not asked to plead when they appeared before Chitungwiza regional magistrate Mr Never Katiyo.
They were remanded in custody to November 14 for trial.
It is the State case that the three who live in Muringayi Village under Chief Nyamweda, Mhondoro teamed up to pounce on the family unexpectedly.
Allegations are that, on April 5 this year, Nabel Pwsarayi of Tondori Farm, Beatrice was alone in the farm house while Andrew Kwidhini employed as a guard was manning the gate.
Pwsarayi was anxiously waiting for her husband and son to return from Harare.
As she was seated in the lounge, a Mazda Titan truck suddenly appeared and Pwsarayi thought her family had returned.
But unknown to her, her husband and son were force-marched into the house by two men with one holding a revolver.
The one who was camouflaged in a red-woolen hat mask, ordered her to lie down or risk death.
As she was on the ground, her husband and son were also ordered to lie in the same position.
The gang then tied their hands on their backs and started demanding money.
She indicated where the money was and one of them went on to collect it.
Thereafter, they took a rifle before they went on to ransack the kitchen and the bedroom.
They took a television set, cut the phone line, demanded car keys and fired a warning shot before they drove off.
When Pswarayi managed to untie herself, she helped everyone in the room, she went to untie the security guard at the gate and sent him to seek help from the farm compound.
Kwidhini came back with a cell phone that was then used to call the police.
The total value of recovered property was worth US$12 465.
