TWO suspected cellphone thieves faked death after they received a thorough hiding at the hands of a mob in the Harare Central Business District.

Prince Mubaiwa and his accomplice, only known as Tafadzwa, of Avenues area, in Harare were beaten up by the mob.

They were kicked, punched and ended up even faking death.

They were taken to a water point where they were splashed with running water.

The two were saved from further attacks by patrolling police officers.

They were led to a police base in the First Street Mall.

“We want to discipline them so that they do not steal from people again.

“Arikunyepera kufenda ngaarohwe, mudirei mvura,” a member of the mob was heard shouting.
