ANESU TAPFUMANEYI, a United Kingdom-based musician and songwriter who goes by the moniker SusuBeachBoy, is raising the Zimbabwean flag high on the international music scene.
Tapfumaneyi recently signed a distribution agreement with international record label Immensum Music.
Immensum Music is a global powerhouse that provides artistes, independent labels and music associates with the resources they need to launch or take their music careers to the next level.
The company has worked with some of Africa’s biggest artistes such as Davido, Falz, Burna Boy and Kizz Daniel.
The record label offered the artiste a distribution contract, which gives him access to Immensum’s 100 million followers and 10 billion streams.
His extraordinary mix of alternative RnB, pop and Afrobeats seems to have caught the attention of the British music scene and the record label.
In an interview with The Sunday Mail Society, SusuBeachBoy said he decided to embark on a musical journey after he saw Justin Bieber getting discovered on YouTube.
“It wasn’t until I saw Justin Bieber getting discovered on YouTube that I actually started to believe that I could also make it,” he said.
The artiste also chronicled his long way to stardom.
“I started writing music very early, with my biggest inspirations being the likes of Frank Ocean and Drake. My father was always playing music around the house, and it made me have a strong passion for the art form.”
From an early age, the musician and his sister would also sing in the church choir.
The rest, like they say, is history.
“I eventually met a producer called Carty S and he was the first to record my music in a studio in London. I then met the Nigerian outfit Bantu and record producer Dr Chaii in London,” the youthful artiste narrated.
That meeting opened more doors for Tapfumaneyi.
“After listening to my music, Bantu and Dr Chaii were impressed and I was invited to work with them in the United States. From there on, my doors to the music industry opened,” he said.
Asked what sets him apart from the other musicians, Tapfumaneyi spoke about teamwork and the impact his music has.
“I have a great team and a wide network of people who encourage me to do more. This has pushed my brand forward.”
Tapfumaneyi worked with the likes of Dutch record producer Avedon, hip-hop record producer JMike; and 7 Aurelius, an American record producer, rapper and song writer. Some of his songs received airplay on BBC 1Xtra.
He has been featured by the likes of American musical outfits Pulse, The Prescriptions and Concord.
Immensum Music is set to release SusuBeachBoy’s single on October 10.
Tapfumaneyi is already planning to make a huge splash on the international music scene with the endgame being to perform on big stages like the Madison Square Garden and the O2 Arena.
