adminZimbabwe’s aviation company called Swiss Jet Aviation has begun its educational tours for school children. The tours are meant to teach the children about aviation processes and other disciplines such as hotel and catering.
In an interview with CLS, Swiss Jet Aviation director Honour Moyo said all is going according to plan.
“So far so good, as the tours are successful.
“Last week my team was at Marlborough Primary School and more than 200 students attended the function.
“We are happy that all went well as we began the tour with Holiday Inn before going to Komani Airport where they were taught about aviation,” said Moyo.
Today they are hosting Tynwald Primary School.
“We have added braai, jumping castle and other activities for the children but at the same time our main goal is to educate them on aviation processes,” he said.
The added activities he said are to mix the educational aspect as well as the social side. However a second term calendar with activities has been lined up.
“For primary and high schools first term we do aerodrome flying in which we will be training the students to fly model and scale airplanes and second term the flying club will have inter schools, district and national competitions in model flying just as other co-curricular activities like chess and soccer,” he said.
He said Drone Technology which is pencilled for third term will teach students how to operate commercial type drones and consider the possibility of pursuing an unmanned aerial vehicles career. – CL Reporter
